Supervision
Why I Offer Supervision
Clinical supervision played a significant role in my own development as a therapist, and I believe strongly in its power to shape thoughtful, ethical clinicians. The early years of practice can be both exciting and overwhelming. New clinicians are often holding complex client stories while also learning documentation, navigating ethical decisions, and developing their own therapeutic voice. I offer supervision because I care deeply about the quality and sustainability of our field. Supporting clinicians as they grow in skill, confidence, and self-awareness ultimately benefits the clients and communities we serve. I’m especially passionate about mentoring clinicians specializing in treating eating disorders.
What Supervision With Me Looks Like
Supervision with me is a collaborative process that balances clinical skill-building, practical guidance, and "self of the therapist" work. In supervision, you can expect space to bring both the clinical and human sides of your work as a therapist. Some sessions may focus on detailed case consultation, while others may explore broader themes like professional identity, countertransference, or navigating ethical challenges.
Supervision will include:
-
Case consultation and treatment planning
-
Developing case conceptualization skills
-
Exploring relational dynamics and use of self in therapy
-
Ethical decision-making and professional boundaries
-
Working through difficult or complex clinical cases
-
Reviewing documentation and clinical record-keeping
-
Building confidence in your clinical judgment
-
Ensuring the acknowledgement of systems of oppression and priviledge
My goal is to help you develop your own thoughtful, grounded approach to therapy. I also believe supervision should support the long-term sustainability of your career. That means we may also talk about things like workload, boundaries, preventing burnout, and building a practice that aligns with your values. Above all, supervision should be a place where you feel comfortable asking questions, sharing uncertainty, and continuing to grow as a clinician.
Specialty Focus: Eating Disorders & Body Trust®
While I welcome supervisees working with a range of professional goals, my particular strength is supervising clinicians who want to deepen their work with:
-
Eating disorders and disordered eating
-
Body image concerns
-
Weight stigma and diet culture
-
Trauma and relational dynamics connected to food and body
My clinical work is grounded in Health at Every Size® and Body Trust® principles. I received my own supervision from Hilary Kinavey from The Center for Body Trust and am a Certified Body Trust® Specialist.
